The use of median rank for the comparison of alternatives in the long-term

The article offers the author’s approach to the comparison of the alternatives for the long-term development of the system/object, based on the use of ordinal variables. The best alternative is compared and selected using the author’s method of supramedian ranks. The article illustrates the application of the proposed approach when choosing the option of economic development of the Komi Republic
